The White River
The White River runs for approximately 195 miles from its headwaters high in the Flat Tops Wilderness until it meanders into Utah and joins the Green River. It is an important source of irrigation water for ranchers and farmers providing for the lush hay meadows and green vistas for which Meeker is well-known. All of this open space provides abundant wildlife habitat and the White River is also home to one of Colorado’s famed fisheries, featuring four species of trout including the brown, rainbow, brook and cutthroat.
It is easy to access the White River at Town Park. Visitors can take a relaxing walk along the river path or enjoy the playground, basketball, pickleball, horseshoe pit, and picnic pavilion.
