We Care for Meeker!

Click to view “The Trail to Responsible Recreation” your guide to Meeker and the White River Valley.

The Care for Colorado Leave No Trace Principles, developed through a first-of-its-kind travel industry partnership with Leave No Trace in 2017,  were designed to encourage all of us to travel responsibly in order to protect Colorado’s extraordinary outdoor and cultural resources.

The Care for Colorado Leave No Trace Principles are available on Colorado.com and in a new “Are You Colo-Ready?” brochure available to visitors at all ten Colorado Welcome Centers. Also available as a download, the brochure includes packing advice and tips on how to travel like a local, such as guidance on operating bear-proof trash cans. For information see the Colorado Destination Stewardship Plan.

Do Colorado Right – Care for Colorado

DO COLORADO RIGHT - CARE FOR COLORADO

Meeker proudly supports the Care for Colorado Leave No Trace Principles, a statewide stewardship initiative led by the Colorado Tourism Office in partnership with Leave No Trace. These principles encourage all of us — visitors and locals alike — to recreate responsibly and protect Colorado’s extraordinary natural and cultural resources.

When you visit Meeker and the White River Valley, we ask that you:

• Plan ahead and be prepared
• Respect private property and working lands
• Protect wildlife and waterways
• Dispose of waste properly
• Leave historic and natural places as you found them

By doing your part, you help preserve the landscapes, trails, river access, and heritage that make our community special.

Together, we can keep Meeker beautiful — today and for generations to come.
